Q: My blackberry pearl 8100 also has this same issue. It started with just once a month and then in the last 4 months has been a weekly problem. However, now it is nearly every hour and sometimes every 5 mins! I still have a year left in my contract and no $ to buy a new phone! I wish someone had more advice then just to “take the battery out and then reboot when you put the battery back in” because I do this EVERY time and still it continues.

Resolution: Taking the battery out and rebooting the device is the first thing to do in any case, If it still not working after doing this, you should update the phone to a newer version. While working as a tech for **** I witnessed a lot of this issue. It is a common problem within that series. but once update to a newer version, problem will be fixed;)
